Dudley Advocacy offers generic advocacy support for people with mild to moderate learning disabilities via the Volunteer Advocacy Project.

Volunteer Advocates support people on a one to one basis where there is an identified, appropriate advocacy issue.

Advocacy partnerships may be short term (crisis) or longer term (citizen) depending on the individual’s needs.

The Volunteer Advocate may support people with the following:

  • Gathering information so that their advocacy partner can make an informed choice

  • Support their advocacy partner to write letters and/or make phone calls

  • Ask questions on behalf of their advocacy partner

  • Support their advocacy partner at meetings

  • Translate documents so that their advocacy partner understands them

  • Support their advocacy partner with complaints.

All our Volunteer Advocates are DBS checked & fully trained.
